If you could have the career in gaming that many Korean and Chinese players do, would you want it?
| I'm not passionate enough about Warcraft 3 to make it as big as part of my life as I would need to if I had a career in it. |
Well I'm not really knowledgable about what life as a pro-gamer is like. I do know that the salaries of all but the few very top war3 players in the world isn't even remotely close to what I could make in another career and it would be very uncomfortable to live in the US on such a salary.
That being said even if it was good money I'm not sure if I would enjoy the lifestyle or not. It is important to find a career in something that you are either passionate about or can learn to be passionate about and I'm still trying to figure out what that is for me.
While I really do enjoy playing Warcraft 3 and am passionate about strategy games, I'm not passionate enough about Warcraft 3 to make it as big as part of my life as I would need to if I had a career in it.
After seeing some of the other teams that were eliminated from the qualifier get into WC3L and do well (nWo for example), do you feel frustrated you couldn't get in sooner?
Well that's all in the past, but yes I would have liked KoD to make it in much sooner. We always had the problem of having 1/2 our players in good shape and 1/2 inactive during every qualifier which really held us back.
I hope that even though we didn't perform as well in the qualifiers as the other teams that made it in that way (nwo/raptor/wnv/ngize/mtw/GG) we can show that we deserve to be in the wc3l by snagging as many points as we can and putting up a stern fight against even the best teams in the league (mym/sk/mtw/we).
Do you think you have a realistic chance at making Top 6? Will you practice hard to get this goal?
Well I think we have a realistic chance at making the top 6, although that chance is very small it is definitely possible.
I'll try to practice and focus in my matches, although if you mean by practice hard several hours every day, I don't see that happening, although maybe the day or two before matches I can try to put in some good hours if I can find very strong opponents to practice against.
Are you looking to add any new players to help your team? Would you prioritize team chemistry or player skill?
Definitely we'd prioritize team chemistry; we'd never accept anybody who we didn't get along with no matter how good they are.
That being said we wouldn't accept people who wouldn't be able to improve our lineup even if they were friends, so both are really important. We've been looking to add new players for a month or two now, but with our budget and the above requirements I mentioned, it's extremely hard.
