Rattletrap, the Clockwerk Goblin

United State- IceFrog recently released the 6.53 map introducing a new hero, Rattletrap, the Clockwerk Goblin. This hero has a lot of potential to become a league picked hero in the future with his tremendous capability & map control. Although some claim he is merely a gank hero with very little team work potential except for his Rocket Flare ability which gives vision on the map, enabling ganks. Here we will examine the new hero inside and out, show you the pros and cons to determine whether or not the hero can be used for competitive play.

What confuses most people is the fact that it's a strength hero and seems like a late gamer by a first glance, but he is not, even in despite the fact that he has high strength gain. He is more like a caster.

The most important feature of this new hero is his third ability, Rocket Flare, which could just be the next imbalance in competitive DotA. The cooldown isn't long and unlike Beastmaster's hawk, it gives damage! The Rocket Flare can be shot within a 600 AOE, making it a perfect skill to gank areas like the neutrals or river spots. You may also use it for keeping an eye on rune spots without the need to leave your lane.

Here's a short video, introducing the new hero, enjoy!

Lets hear what the players have to say about the Goblin!

Sweden SK.Loda: I believe he would fit into competitive gaming! He has a lot of good spells, and I believe that you could use him as a perfect initiator, because when he uses his spell that surrounds a hero the hero's allies can't come and help him, because of the knock back and manaburn. I haven't played THAT much with him yet, but I find him a bit 2 good. His spells are just to cheap and does a lot of damage. I mean he has one skill that works as leshracs diabolic, but with stun? Sounds a bit imba to me ^^ The rocket is really good as well, it's sorta like a tinker missile but you have to aim it yourself, then there is the "cage" spell I told you about before, and at last there is his ultimate which works as a hook, but instead of hooking them to you, you hook yourself to them, the stupid part is that it's so fast you can't dodge it!

United State- EG.Whisper: So far, I find it to be annoying, but I don't see it having too much of a use in competitive play. Its infinite range missile seems fun, but isn't all that powerful. Reverse hook is only really useful for chasing and engaging, and the trap ability seems very situational also. It's a fun hero, but with the layout of its skills it's more geared to pub games than competitive play. He lacks any special area of excellence, as he's not great late game, he's not the greatest laner, he doesn't have a big disable, and he's fairly item dependent. He could be used as a ganker potentially, but there are many better choices.

Romania TeG-Rushmeplz: I have been playing the new hero on some pub games with my friends. So i can't give you a 100% accurate assessment of his use in competitive play. All of his skills make him a really good gank hero.
He seems to gain a lot of HP and is very resilient, the stun skill makes him really awesome in 1v1 combat and the range on that rocket makes for some awesomely funny frags.
I think competitively he is somewhat comparable to Pudge not just because he has a hook like ability but because he has the same kind of fighting style so if he gets real close to you and pwnz. If i had a choice i would lane him with the same heroes pudge would be good to lane with: omniknight, lich, WD, pugna, leshrac.
My only concerns are his ult and the very low cost of his skills i would love to try him in a clan war and see how he handles. If creating him was meant to make the game more fun it has completely succeeded.

it's great to have him, like a combination of heroes but there are a lot of things to be nerfed
