There are no bigger poster boys for coming close and falling unfortunately short than Team Delta that have been in WC3L qualifiers for 4 Seasons, but failed to qualify by a few matches each time. To try to figure out the most consistently inconsistent team, I went right to the source to ask some players and managers what is keeping them out of the Champions League.

How has your team been since being knocked out of WC3L qualifiers? How is the morale?

Insanity: It's pretty much the same as always. Sucks we aren't in WC3L but at the same time it's not gonna kill us not being in it. The game is meant to have fun and not go Jason Sensation on yourself when you don't win

CK: Obviously like any other team that lost we were very dissapointed. We felt we had a good chance at qualifying but felt short once again like the other 10 times. What was even worst was that both our players apm and Axslav had to go on LAN/bike trip so we werent able to use one of them :(. The morale of team team is not that high at the moment, especially after just losing  Yane. But we have to remember that this is a game afterall.

Which leagues are Delta involved in right now?

TGL (WC3L Style) - in which is in its offseason. WGL (WC3L Style) - in which we are in the playoffs. NGL- in which we are in our last playweek. TFL (WC3L Style)- in which is in its offseason. And WHL (NGL style) - in which we just started the qualifiers.

Have you been satisfied with your performance in leagues?

CK: In TGL we lost during the first round of the playoffs vs srs. Once again we werent able to use Axslav, but thats no excuse!.The other matches were also close so i think that war could have gona either way but oh well. in TFL we finished 2nd last season, losing to nWo in the playoffs. We never beat them so i guess its alright.

In WGL i think we have a good chance to win it all. And lastly NGL, i think our goal is to stay in NGL-1 and its looking good at the moment.

How do you two feel about Yane leaving? Did you see it coming? Has it been hard on the rest of the players?

CK: I didnt see it coming. In fact, I found about by reading about it in WCR since i was gone that weekend. Yane had been in Delta for quite some time and we all had good chemistry so it was very surprising when i read that he had left us =(.

Insanity: Yane's a good friend of mine, we actually reside pretty close to each other. I'm not that surprised he left and I did see it coming, especially after his very strong results. Overall I think it will have a pretty strong effect at the current time but in the long run it will smooth over with players getting stronger. Some players coming out of inactivity etc will help.

Do you have any plans for adding new players over this small off season? Or are you just working on improving the players you have now?

Insanity: Recruiting is always a possibility, but our problem is more on the inactivity side. If our players practice, they'll be good, unfortunatly a lot of the time they don't.

CK: In my opinion we need another player, but i don't know what the others think as of right now. I think our players want to improve even if Yane was still with us or not, so thats out of the question. I guess we will see soon if we will be adding another player or not.

Do you feel you can get into WC3L without adding a new player? Can the players you have perform at that level if motivated?

CK: We definitely can get into WC3L with our current players. The question is if our players are motivated enough and have enough time to practice. All of our players have work/school and what not, so its a lot hard for them to practice 10-12 hours a day like many pros do.

Insanity: Yes definately. Axslav is a very unpredictable player and a Tiny among men. StrifeCro is like a Luna whos done nothing but farm for 50 minutes, apm is like an LoA in -wtf and LongWalk is like an Anti-Mage with radi and vlads. On the other hand, MiNiMuM is like a techies without bombs.

CK: WTF Kind of answer is that?

You have an unusual circumstance in that you are qualified for NGL-One but not WC3L, is there any reason for this? Is the format better for your team?

Insanity: We're in NGL1 because of the godlike skills of the legendary StrifeCro. We've stayed in for so long with the strong play of Axslav, apm, LongWalk, Kowi, and Yane. The format is probably better for us because for whatever reason, only 1-2 players of ours are actually good at the same time.

CK: I guess that's pretty weird. I dont really know what the reason is. Maybe our players were better back then when we qualified dunno. I guess NGL is better for us since we suck at projecting lineups (e.g. Insanity).

Insanity: ROFL. I quote:

Insanity: You're right, everyone on Vent agreed so it was DarkChrono, Axslav, apm, and Strife.

After Verge disbanded, Delta has been the only primarily American team performing well in top leagues, do you have a sense of pride representing North America in a game that is filled with European and Asian talent?

Insanity: Representing American in higher leagues I definitately enjoy. As long as the euros doesn't take the wins, its a win for us.

CK: We definiely have pride being the best American team in Warcraft 3. Its an honor, but on the other hand we dont have much competiion, sadly.
