So why these four? Why are they more interesting than other teams? It's about the past history and rivalrys. SK and MYM have been battling at the top now for a long time. Grubby and ToD played for a historic team that dominated WC3 for years. SK players all left WE just 2 seasons ago, and now WE using their WE.08 team has made a complete recovery and now (perhaps) is better than ever before.
Sky and Infi both being nominated for MVP losing a combined 1 match all season - Infi also being nominated for most improved player. Soju and Remind both being nominated for MVP because of their solo and 2v2 performances. There are the big names, Grubby, Moon, Lucifer, ToD, Lyn, etc.
Attax and Wicked, though great teams, don't have a huge compelling story to go with them. The community has found it hard to get behind wicked's team because of the instability, bouncing from sponsor to sponsor for several seasons without finding a home. Fnatic has had a similar problem, but now that they have stability, their sponsor can start to market them and their fan rate will build up. For example: Look at all the MYM merchandise you see on the ads on this site, the Grubby gear on the front pgae. MYM markets their team, and markets it well. They build their fan base by putting them in the spotlight. Theres no one there to highlight players like
Southsea and
Fivestar, even if they are good players.
