Looking to the future

His inconsistencies are a thing of frustration, and there is still plenty of room to improve. Though he has proven to be valuable in weekly cups and leagues, there is of course one thing missing from his international gaming resume: A real breakthrough on LAN. It's hard enough for Americans to get LAN exposure in the US as there are few major LAN tournaments on the American Continent, and the American competition is not nearly as good as European or Asian competition. Still, does this mean Americans cannot reach the top?

Sonkie Building Tower

Sonkie refining the art of building towers.

Where will SonKie go from here? Who knows? He could improve, or this could be his peak. With his team, Serious, to almost certainly miss the offline finals, it may be a while before we see SonKie on LAN. However, without many other Americans in top form, he will likely qualify for ESWC and WCG finals, and there we will see what SonKie is really made of and how far he can really go.

Represent USA gogo SonKie!!!

I agree with him, the US servers have been crap for a long time, and that all the US cares about are cheap console games which require little to no skill to play. I can pick up a Halo (1, 2, or 3) game and become very sufficient in skill level in less than a month of playing it. When as you look at games on the PC such as WC3/SC/CS they require a lot more skill and strategy involved. I also like his remarks on the DOTA scene. DOTA isn't as hard as a game to pick up as WC3 is, which should be noted to all DOTA players out there. Yes, DOTA is fun, yes, Halo is fun, but when you narrow it down, the true skill and time consumption, along with competitiveness lies down on the original games of WC3/SC/CS once again.

Keep fighting SonKie for the USA!!!
