Enough is enough – and cheat is cheat
Thursday the 21st of February 2008 mTw.dk and chemistry played against one another in Danish eSport League #2 – the final. The match was set on de_dust and de_inferno, and due to a lineup change, mTm.dk was forced to roster with their manager, guddo. guddo ended up playing a good match and was topfragging when viewing over two maps. After the match chemistry quickly filed a complaint, as they were convinced that guddo was faked by whiMp.
2 days later, on Saturday the 23rd of February 2008 the verdict was stated in the case between mTw.dk vs. chemistry and no surprises hit the Danish scene: guddo and mTw.dk were both found innocent due to a lack of evidence.
The reason for this article
To convince whoever might read this blog, that it was not guddo who played for mTw.dk against Chemistry – whoever played instead of him is irrelevant.
My opinion
Unfortunately, I did not see the match live, as I was in the middle of a match for the national team of Denmark. However, afterwards, when I joined the SoA ventrilo, anizz and FriiS where arguing about whether or not guddo was playing or not – at this point he was tearing shreds of Chemistry as CT on inferno. This naturally made me interested in the demo and so I decided that I would download the demo as soon as it was uploaded.
The demo was already uploaded sometime later that evening, but I had turned in and therefore had to wait until late Friday evening to watch the demo. I, however, was not late to be convinced that I was not watching guddo play the match. This was evident on both de_dust2 and de_inferno. However, I did not want to entirely condemn him before I had watched him play a match where he with certainty wielded the mouse.
I logged on to www.gotfrag.com and downloaded the demo between ZYKON and NoA from Lanmount in Germany (de_dust2 & de_nuke). The match was played on LAN some three months earlier and guddo was particpating. Again it did not take me many rounds to confirm what I had suspected: “It was not guddo playing the final against Chemistry.
The difference between the two gamers is immense. Where guddo clearly is inexperienced, the player gaming against chemistry was both skilled and experienced – on top of this the two players had totally different moves and gaming-styles. The change from LANmount to the DEL final was so great that it would simply be impossible to change in just three months, especially with the knowledge of guddo never really playing, something that a playing time of 2.2 hours testifies: http://www.mymym.com/gfx/guddo-steamaccount.jpg.
Many have aired the thought that maybe guddo simply pracced Deathmatch for several hours up to the match. If this is the case, how come he only has the 2.2 hours of playing time that equals the time spent on playing the actual final?
