Yo, juve9le! Could you give us a short introduction of yourself?

- Hi there, my name is Geir-Stian, also known as Geggi (my childhood nickname;) I'm 19 years old an live in the beautiful city of Stavanger on the westcoast of Norway. The past 1 year and 2 months i've been playing for the norwegian powerhouse Catch-Gamer!

You have been in the Counter-Strike Scene for a while now and played for several clans. Tell me a bit about them, which has been the most fun?

- Oh well, i've done my share of switching clans. Couldn't really find a clan that had a real sponsor that actually gave us what they promised. First off i played for Northern Star, a local team from my town Stavanger. This first edition of Northern Star was just for fun, but as soon as we started playing we beat a lot of good teams in Norway and decided to take it further. We went to The Gathering 2003 where we upset the norwegian scene by beating a team called The Feared and placing 2. in the tournament.

We also went to a CPL Europe qualifier in Norway which we won. We went to Copenhagen, Denmark to play our first CPL, it was huge for us, allthough the location wasn't the greatest. After a while some players in my team decided to quit playing CS. I got an offer from play eSports and later Clan-IT where I played with players like Luke and Juzam. Our organization offered us paid trips and computers, which never happened.

So after being the nr 1 team in norway for a few months I got an unexpected offer from 4Kings. I was very happy with this offer and I spent the entire summer of 2004 in Wales, bootcamping for various events like the ESWC Qualifier, CPL Summer qualifier, CPL Summer 2004, UKT Finals and EOGC Live in London. I decided to go back to school after the Summer so i left 4Kings.

I got back to Norway and started a new Northern Star with the players oops, radon, OmeN, s0vik. We just played one local LAN together, cause I got an offer from Catch-Gamer that I couldn't turn down. Besides from Catch-Gamer i would say that the times I had with Northern Star has been the most fun, the trip to Denmark was probably the best :P

As you meantioned you played a while in Four Kings back in 2004. When you look back on it now, what was the most memorable moment with them?

- Well, i have this one moment i'll always remember. We went to this ESWC 2004 Qualifier in Sheffield (same location as CPL UK was held). We arrived to find out that we'd been scheduled to play at 21 inches FLAT TFreakinT MONITORS!!! with like 25ms delay.

We got off to a good start, but then we faced =WOLF= on de_dust2, they kinda owned us ;| but anyways we had a chance to come back in the game, DarK
won a 1on3 situation and only had the bomb left to defuse. It seems the GUI unbinded his keys so he didn't have a button with the function "+use" available and one thing lead to another, TFT monitors was smashed on the floor and mice were thrown at people. ;) probably the most memorable moment.

Haha. Catch-Gamer attended the second season of the World e-Sports Games, but turned down an invitation for the third season. How about returning to Korea, do you ever talk about it within the team?
(NOTE: The interview was written before the team decided to give WEG another go)

- I had a great time in Korea, along with the others. Now we have 2 new players whom has also been to Korea fo WEG. I think it's a pretty fair chance that we'll return to Korea or whatever the location of WEG is this next season. WEG is a great opportunity for us as a new team to play together create strats, work on our game and the social part of being a team.

Did you compete in any "real" sports beforing starting with Counter-Strike?

- Yeah, I played a lot of football from when I was 6-16 years old. When I turned 13 I started playing Handball, where I actually had some talent compared to football ^^. I played Handball for 3,5 years, my team got disolved and I continued playing CS and only CS! ;)

Would you say that the 1st place with Catch-Gamer at the CPL World Tour Turkey is the greatest moment in your gaming career?

- Nah, I actually think that placing 2. at the World e-Sports Games in Korea
and winning 30,000$ was the greatest moment. It didn't feel like CPL Turkey was a real CPL because it was cancelled due to the weather conditions, there were only like 4-5 pro teams showing up and like 18 turkish teams. And it turns out that we don't get our money from that event so now I don't like it at all.

How does the lifestyle as a professional gamer affect your "real life"?

- I don't think it affects my "real life" that much, only thing is i've gotten more lazy. I've lost my need for working out, which I had alot of before. I've lost some friends on my way to the top, but I have made friends aswell, including my team mates, so I would say that I like the way the gaming affects my "real life", besides from the physical activity part  ;)

With Team9 out of the picture you really don't have a big rival when it comes to Counter-Strike in Norway. How do you think this influence you as a team?

- Well, I think it's better for the team. It's builds up our confidence to know that we're the best from our own country. I think team9 stole some of our thunder after losing like 15 times to them after WEG2, so I like the way it is now to be honest.

Juve9le

Many of your colleagues play poker, but what about you, ever get the urge to gamble?

- Well to be honest I don't know how to play poker, or any other card game so my chances of gambling are pretty small. But when I had to stay at Schipol in Amsterdam for 12 hours I found my way into the Casino to spend some euros.

REAL and oops are the two newest addtions in your roster. You only get 3 words to describe them each, so choose wisely!

- REAL: Crazy shoothruwall-kid :o)
- oops: Calm aimer dude

Any events you look forward to attend in 2006?

- I must say WEG Masters is one of my highlights this year.

How do you feel about traveling so much to a bunch of different events, and do you have a favorite destination?

- I would say my favorite destination is Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, it's paradise. ;)

What about your worst or most embarrassing moment in your professional gaming career, care to share?

- I would say losing to TEC at this Winters CPL Dallas, I've never been that embarressed just by losing to a team :o)

Do you see yourself playing another game than CS?

- I just try a few games, such as WoW, but I played it until i hit level 11 and then stopped completely. I'll probably try out some games, but never as a main game.

Team Catch-Gamer had a pretty successful year in 2005, do you think you can live up to it this year?

- I think we can do much better this year, and I sure hope we will take home more than one 1. place in 2006.

Thank you for your time! This is were you get to do any shoutouts.

- My pleasure. I would like to thank everyone working for Catch-Gamer.no especially Glum, Terje and Rune and my team mates! I also want to give my girlfriend some hugs&kisses wuv u babe!
