Strategical Questions and Answers

What do you do versus a good elf player on a map that supports him a lot say for example Terenas Stand?
I try to kill few archers after my blademaster reaches level 2. Then I try to cancel his tier 2 buildings. If he goes Ancient of Lores I do Shadow Hunter and double bestiary and produce raiders and kodos. In fight I try to focus down his 2nd hero and dryads with my raiders, grunts and heroes and eat bears with kodos. If I gain a small advantage for example good tier 2 harass or have a good fight I expand. Versus talons I do Tauren Chieftain and bestiary lodge and try to creep it up and same time harass with blade master trying to get invidual units down. I think theres not difference in what I do on a good or bad map, maybe I try tower rushing more often in bad maps. In Terenas Stand I would do it by creeping with a level 3 FarSeer and then going immediately at the start of tier 2 with naga or to go bit later with Shadow Hunter and demolishers and raiders included.

In your experience what has been the most unique strategy you've seen ever?
All the tower-rushes done by CaptainPlanet, who is a finnish orc specialized in tower-rushing. One of his favourite mirror strategies is massing about group Headhunders staying in tier1 and tower-rushing at same time when enemy gets t2. You could think that 2nd hero would own it, but its really hard to beat. He also has many different tower strategies in all matchups.

How do you handle a human opponent?
In maps that I do blademaster (GW, TM, TS, SV, I do it in LT also but diff. strat) I immediately go to harass his creeping, trying to steal creeps and to damage his Arch Mage. Then I start running after his Arch Mage around the map, waiting for clock to be 19.00. At that time both players want to get boots of speed, so when we are running around the map when he decides its time to go to the shop I'll indwalk and try to get the boots before him so I could kill the Arch Mage, and of course while I'm running after his hero my grunts are stopping his militias / footies from creeping, or creeping by themselves. In tier 2 human usually pushes in order to get my tier 2 buildings or burrows down. I try to kill one of his heroes (the one that doesnt have boots, usually 2nd hero) and as many footies as possible.
After that I creep with my Shadow Hunter a little, trying to get it lvl 2 and meanwhile I run with blademaster level 3 around the map, trying to catch enemy from creeping and to scout if he is going to do tower-rush. After Shadow Hunter has creeped 1 orange camp and has level 2, I attack the enemy with my army of grunts and raiders produced from double bestiary (so I mass raiders as you can figure out). I try to catch him from creeping and focuse his teleport hero down with hex, then killing his casters. Or then I research pillage and go to kill his buildings.
Around this time I also build a lodge, in order to do Spirit Walkers if im not able to get his hero down and gain fast victory. Often I win by killing his hero at this point of the game, but if it doesn't go so I try to harass his base and creep-jack him, so I can buy time to make around 5 Spirit Walkers which would make killing him in late game possible too. In FS maps (EI, TR) I harass from the beginning, trying to kill something. At tier 2 I get a Tauren Chieftain and start leveling my heroes up, waiting for him to tower rush or interrupt me. I do army of grunts, raiders and spiritwalkers, boosted with few kodo and demolisher or headhunter. In this kind of games I usually just creep to level 3 Tauren Chieftain and then make a go.

What difficulties have you encountered in a mirror match?
I think my mirror in blademaster maps is fine, but the FS maps are difficult. If both goes the same I don't have so much problems, but for example its hard for me to win head hunters with grunt raider etc. But its also hard to win the grunt raider etc with headhunters. Usually certain strategies are preferred in certain maps though, so I just try to go with the mainstream and do same as my opponent.

Why did you pick the Orchish Horde?
Back in RoC I used to play the human, when I began playing the frozen throne I switched to elf and played with it for a while. It was some cool grubbys replays that made me change to orc if I remember correctly. I remember that I used to watch grubbys and cadx2crafts replays, they were my idols back then and I wanted to do that cool stuff also.

What is the most unique strategy you've ever used?
I don't really use it anymore, but the strategy went like this: I instantly sent peon from 5 starting peons to run into elf base (of course only in 2 palyer maps), when reaching the elf base I checked for good position to put up a barracks and started building it. In my own base I did 2 burrows and altar and warmill and sent few peons and blademaster to elf base when BM was ready. Then I built towers behind that barracks and pumped grunts to his base. It worked in many serious ladder games, but after I tried it vs few really good players, I stopped doing it, since they countered it really easily.
