To begin could you give us and our readers a introduction of yourself? Sure thing. My name is Jacob 'Genie' Holm, I'm from Sweden and love Warcraft. I'm currently a new organizer for n!fac and working as an editor at GosuGamers.net.
What have you done before you joined n!faculty.wc3? | ![]() |
A little this and a little that. First of I started as a newswriter at the Swedish Gamingeye, became a manager for the Swedish idle.wc3, but they died. After that I started a league called GWL which disbanded since I had to go to the US as an exchange student for half a year. I got back this xmas and now I have lots of new motivation in working with Warcraft. Why precisely did you join the clan n!? Well when idle.wc3 was disbanded my old mates Kiske and SjoW went to ID Gaming with some other guys from the clan, while I had no motivation to keep on going on that point. When ID was disbanded Kiske and Sjow became inactive but we talked a little again and they both said they had lots of motivation again, so I decided to find a new home for us all. With some thinking faculty was our decision and they found us interesting as well. We chose n! in particular cause they have a good organisation, they are a couple of great guys, they have some good spots in leagues and we seem to fit together with them. I find them all really really nice so far. What do you want to reach with your new team? For a starter staying in NGL-2 and make some great results there. Also, like everyone else, we wanna get into wc3l. Personally I have motivation to make the clan develop as a whole and make some extraordinary results. Can you tell us what are your expectations for your job as organiser for n!? Well, I expect to have a finger in everything, an opinion on everything and will be there to take decisions. I also expect to be a part of the team and that we together, as I said, develop. This is no expectations though, I already make some decisions etc. Let's say i expect to keep on doing so? Are there big changes in n! that you want to do, if yes how and why? Not really. The lineup is pretty solid now, the manners and teamspirit is better than in any other clan I've been in (I've been in like 3 or 4 of them), so I can't really complain. I wanna give the players chances in playing any kind of leagues or tournaments and give them as much motivation to play as possible. Motivations is for me a big part in keep in develop as a player. You live in Sweden, what is the eSports scene in Lidköping like? Haha, awful. Lidköping is not a big town (around 30 000 people), and we have one LAN event that's frequently coming back like 5 times a year. It's 220 spots and ALL OF THEM ARE PLAYING COUTERSTRIKE, it's awful. When IRL friends ask something about WC3 they often ask about what a CW is like; "What's a cw like? Are you like playing TD's or something? oO". Makes me kinda sad, but it's true. So if you could, what would you change there? If everyone would go CS -> WC3 it would be awesome. Give us some nice esport tv channels (since we have none) and give us more big events except DreamHack *dreaming away* Will your school be afflicted by your new job? Hehe, good question. I've honestly had it pretty easy in school, never had to do much of my homework and stuff, I get trough almost everything anyway. It's not about being good in school, It's about manipulating the teachers to thing you're good. Anwyays, I'll survive I guess Read more in Part 2 of the Interview on the next page. | |
