Could you please introduce yourself and your team in regards to the Scan Team NFF tournament?
Hello, name is Sean otherwise known as the one and only madSpunK. I am the leader of the UK CS 1.6 team overtime, and we have entered the Scan Team NFF tournament!
The online qualification stage is about to begin. What do you think of the group you have been entered into?
I think it's quite jokes how we're in the same group as sisterhood, I think we should breeze through the group stages and hopefully sisterhood will come secnd! I dont' see any opposition causing us much problems early on.
There is much competition for the number one spot. How do you think you will do?
The top three prizes are pretty good, but it'll all come down to 1st place for the Scan sponsorship. We will put as much free time into practicing as we can, which is hardly anything due work/uni, but for us we'll be pretty much going all out for it. At the end of the day, it'll come down to virt, turtle and us, and any of those three teams can win, just depends who plays better on the day and where lady luck will be sitting.
Who do you think will be the toughest opponents in the competition?
virtuoso, clanONE and turtle definitely, those are the only three teams that really shine out from everyone else.
This event is the biggest thing in the UK at the moment. Do you see it as a turning point for national esports in general?
Not really, this tournament is just a one off and doesn't look to be like a series of games. Hopefully though, other hardware companies may follow in suit and sponsor lans/form their own teams to compete in e-sports After Scan LAN I will be devoting any time I have into Infinity-Gaming, and pushing the competitions further into the mainstream with bigger prizes, better setups and more competitions.
Over ninety teams have entered the competition, surely there has been much strain on the organisers. How has it been for the likes of yourself, the competitors?
So far the process has been easy and I think the organisers (theSGL) have done well for themselves so far. The problem is making sure teams don't fold before the competition even begins, and already we can see this happening as UKCS teams tend to stick together for a maximum of 2 hours until their first pcw. I'm sure theSGL will find suitable replacements for any drop outs easily and quickly, allowing for a flawless competition.
What really matters is the LAN final, and I know the Omega Sektor in Birmingham will be the perfect setup for such a tournament.
Finally, would you like to warn the competition how good you are? Or maybe you'd just like to use this space for general shoutouts? It's all yours.
Somedays we can play like teamamerica online, and some other days we can all play like brians with no arms, so it really depends on what day you catch us on. Shoutout to RTM-Gaming for providing us a server to practice on and Steel Series for providing us the SteelSound 5H v2s which will help us tremendously.
