About TeK-9

Can you tell us a bit about how you ended up becoming a manager at Tek-9?

I started managing a number of rather unknown German teams, until I got my first real offer from the old school German clan called "XX5". After my time in XX5 I joined plan-B, but I left shortly after, mainly because I didn't really enjoy the atmosphere. A little later I joined the ranks of SGC, a very nice squad. Leaving them wasn't easy, but they were unfortunately too inactive. After the nice time I had in SGC, I joined AoD as honorary manager, but considering AoD eventually had so manymanagers, there was simply no work to be done. I needed a challenge and came in touch with the TeK-9 organization, eventually became squad leader of their new Warcraft 3 division. At first with the idea to build up our own team, but as you recently noticed I’m currently managing the old avant-Garde.

Can you tell us a bit about the deal with avant-Garde, the management of Tek-9 fired the entire team leaving two players and then one left? Describe what exactly went down.

Of course. After the ASUS Winter 2006 SDmK and DoLLaR decided to leave because they received a better offer. This also meant the departure of Ginsash, because all three are actually close friends. With Darius and Fighter inactive we only had GravuD, JorGa, TechnoBoy and DaNNy left, so we discussed the future of the team. With their departure restructuring of the team was needed to keep up the activity and level of play, which means that a significant number of players will be leaving the team. It's not a thing we like doing, but unfortunately it had to be done. After that we decided to focus on taking in a full team instead of building a new one, and in the end we decided to make aG an offer, because of their potential, stability and friendship, which perfectly fits the idea's of the TeK-9 organisation.

What has been your purpose with Tek-9? It's been quite sometime since the team originally started and we haven't seen any big results.

Well, the team started earlier in 2006 with the idea to have a stable team, by starting off slow and with continuous improvement. Things however went a bit quicker than expected, mainly due to the team receiving an invite to compete in the NGL One Qualifier. Although not showing any big results yet, that was not the real intention in the first place. With the current team, we still aim at having a solid and stable team, and that’s also the main reason we showed interest in avantGarde in the first place. They have the talent, stability and a great attitude, which is basically the thing the organisation finds most important.

With the new team in place, how is the team's preparation going on for the upcoming leagues?

The preparation is going very well, we currently train very hard for the upcoming leagues therefore I hope that we can show some nice results in the future.

You picked up the Indian player called Darkboi, after his amazing performance at WCG. Soon after he left, what was the reason for this?

Well basically Darkboi joined us back when our old team was still active in the WC3L, with us offering him the platform to develop even further. However, after the team basically fell apart, it took some time before we made officially announced the addition of avantGarde. Because of the size of the aG team, and the competition he would be facing, as well as the waiting time for a contract to be made (at first it wasn't sure whether the organisation would continue with WC3), he decided to leave the team.

With the number of WC3 teams rising, what exactly could you do to make your team unique?

I can’t really answer that Elroy ^^

From your lineup are there some players we should keep a lookout for?

I don’t want to answer this question.
