aNgeldust on Source

Like you mentioned earlier, many considered the initial release of Counter-Strike: Source a "bugjob." When you began playing did you feel that the game was as bad as people made out?
Yeah I could see their point, but at first I wasnt playing that seriously so I didnt mind, and at the point I started playing competetively again, it was fixed enough to be played on that level so it was all good. Of course there's still lots of bugs around there but hey, CSS is just 2 years old now, CS 1.6 is over 7 years and it aint flawless either.

It certainly isn't. The "flash bug" on de_nuke is still a problem at tournaments and like you say, the game is over 7 years old! Players of both 1.6 and Source have both agreed, on occasions, that Counter-Strike: Source is not fit for competitive play. I would say that you have a different opnion, do you?
Sure, I mean how do you define competetiveness? I mean People are playing tetris competetively for crying out loud, and they dont whine. I think its just a clash of attitudes, and both games are competetive. Its the same layout in the games, only the little details have changed.

You mentioned above a "clash of attitudes." How does the attitude and mentality of the community differ between source and 1.6?
As I see it, the scene in CSS is more friendly, openminded and mature, and it reminds me of the old 1.6 scene before it started tearing itself apart. Current 1.6 players in general seem to be more afraid about the changes, dont really support anything with CSS badge in it, but just flame and trashtalk about the game (CSS) without never even trying it.

I played CSS briefly at LAN, although I was no good I do welcome a change of game. Counter-Strike: Source has become a lot larger in the new year with organisations such as 4Kings and 3D both backing Counter-Strike: Source squads. Many believe that such organisations are simply following the money, referring to the CGS, what are your thoughts?
The bottom line is that money runs the games, and to get the game bigger, more money is brought in! I can clearly see their point coming to CSS for money, and that just gets me excited to be honest, I'm utterly waiting to see what the current professional 1.6 teams can do in source! ^^ What comes to CGS, I think its just a magnicificent addition to make the game more popular, and I hope it will succeed
