MYM]Lucifer - First undead to defeat SK.Lyn in a long time

Jae Wook “MYM]Lucifer” Noh rediscovered his touch last week at the second iteration of Neo Star League quarter-finals where he triumphed over SK.Lyn with a score of 2 to 1.

The Orc player is known to have a stupendous form against Undead players with recent flawless victories over BeT.Fov and fnatic.Space at the AWL Grand Finals.

Although the best-of-3 series appeared to be a friendly between the pair, the encounter had a greater significance for most Undead players, where it represented a true test of many opinions with Orcs having a substantial advantage over Undead.

However Lucifer confuted that hypothesis, claiming that the match-up eventually boils down to each individual’s playstyle and skills.

“Yeah, Lyn’s OC vs UD match-up is incredible, some top Orc players have a really good chance against Undeads,” he said.

“But in the end, it’s just about the players’ skills.

“Actually, I felt a little scared before the games started. Lyn is number 1 against UD. I thought that I would have lost, but I just wanted to try my best anyway.”

And like most Undead players, Lucifer deployed a similar dreadful strategy of three heroes with fiends and frost wyrm.

He added: “I really like to use fiends against Orc. My micro has a 101% effect while using fiends, as compared to probably 80-90% effect while using ghouls.

“In the final 2 matches I used Dark Ranger because she is better sometimes. I needed her to silence the TC, so he was unable to stomp in a good position.”

However, despite losing the first match on Terenas Stand, the Undead player had tenacity to sweep the remaining series to his favor.

“In the first game, he simply played better throughout the game.

“I just kept in mind that I can win. All I had to do was to do my best. I felt really good when I won, and a little sorry for Lyn.

“Actually, I practiced with Lyn for that match too. Since we are good friends, I always practice with him before he plays an Undead too.”

Lucifer’s next opponent in NSL will be the notorious WE.Infi, who is known for his massive towering playstyle. Dates and time are yet to be announced.
