"Ask MYM" is one of our most popular additions in our CLUB-section, but upon acquiring a new team recently, we would like to give our users a chance to find out more about the team. Here is how it works:
Our Polish guys in the Counter-Strike 1.6 team will be answering 20 questions over the next 20 days. The questions will be contributed by you - our beloved users and fans. This is your chance to get to know something you didn't know about your favourite team; how they create tactics, how they analyze their opponents, how they live, how they train - or something else. The sky is the limit for your questions.
Questions should be posted in the comment section to this news and they have to contain the following:
Everyday throughout the month of January, we will choose one question to ask the players, and the contributing user will stand a chance to win a Sennheiser PC 161 Headset or a QPad CT mousepad. The author of the best question will be awarded the headset, while the two runner ups will be awarded a mousepad each. So don't hesitate and state your questions today!
Q (raphau): What has changed after you joined MYM? Has your training schedule changed and how often do you train?
A (neo): I think nothing special has changed yet. We practice like before, 5 times a week and for about 4-5 hours. We are waiting for our first event, and then we can talk about any changes.Q (HuMaNThe): When you joined MYM, has it affected the relationships with your polish fans/friends? and how?
A (neo): Most of my friends say it was a great move for us to join MYM, so I don't think it affected any of them. Fans thing is kinda more complicated, after winnning everything in Poland people got bored of us and started cheering up other Polish teams. So even before leaving PGS we lost lots of fans. :P But I don't think it affected our true fans at all. ;)Q (Kaka-): Which LAN event are you guys looking forward to play in the most this year?
A (neo): All of them!Q (pi0trinho): You're the last player, who has entered the ex.PGS team. Could You tell me about differences between professional gaming, and playing in a top5 team in Poland.
A (kuben): It isn't hard to explain. I always do my best when I play. When you join a better team your motivation will rise. When the rest of your new mates have the same motivation, you raise your level through the desire to win. It's just normal. Here in Poland we have only 1 team who had the possibility of travelling around the world and enjoy tournaments. Well, thanks to the above mentioned motivation we have many good teams in Poland. I have a lot of friends in those teams and we are playing a lot of mixteams together, and the only obstacle is that they don't have money from sponsors to go to some international tournaments to gain some experience and evovle as a players.Q (Riffer1990): How come MYM.cs is the only well-known Polish team, when for example in Sweden/Denmark you have atleast 3-4 well-known names?
A (neo): e-Sport is not as popular as in Sweden/Denmark, which means there less sponsors/companies interested in gaming. Teams can't go to events and gain experience because they have no money. Bad because we have some talented players in Poland.Q (FoosS): Who were your hardest opponent last year? And to which event were you preparing most?
A (kuben): The hardest opponent for us is alway team fnatic. We trained really much before the ESWC Finals in Paris. We had 12 days of bootcamping in Sweden prior to the event.Q (nWcAnotherHope): I really want a honestly answer on this question. Everybody starts playing CS for fun, especially with their friends. I guess you enjoyed playing CS at the beginning. Are you still enjoying CS or do you feel 'forced'' to play because you are a part of MYM now? So the main question is, do you enjoy playing cs or are you playing just to be famous(more famous)?
A (kuben): Oh, when you feel the taste of winning, you want more. We are playing for the team which we are representing - we are proud to be part of MYM, for our fans, our families and ofcourse for real money. We will be famous even if we would quit soon. But don't worry - we wont, we are hungry for more trophies!Q (kaczy): What does you mother and father say about you concentrating on computer gaming instead of getting a "good" education?
A (Loord): It doesn't matter for my parents. This is my life, and I will do what I want to do.Q (Zephixd): As everybody knows, when you were in PGS, there was close to no media released on the website (eg. povs, demos). Are you going to put some POVs up now, when you're in much bigger and popular organisation?
A (Loord): Whenever we have some good games we will of course upload them. Sign up for the MYM Club to get the POV Demos from our games!Q (enem): I have heard that you are going to train a lot and maybe sacrifice some things to be on top. What will you do when you one day can't be in the top, even though you train a lot?
A (kuben): Hm this is different for all of us as we have different plans and ideas. I'm going to finish my education and after that I really don't know yet.Q (Mazio): What you can say to players that doesn't have any clan or team, but still play very well and wants to be playing matches and events like you? What should they do? And how was it when you started at playing CS?
A (neo): To be honest I've never been in such a situation, but the best thing is to start playing with few friends, getting to know new people from some good teams, and playing mixes together with them. And someday when you're good enough and show you got some skills, they'll take you. When I started playing CS, everything was different. My clan was like one of the first few clans in Poland, there were no events yet, so it was only fun - matches 10on10 etc.
Q (kficzol ): Few days ago, the Polish website counter-strike.pl published the thought-to-be-lost interview that Guandi from PGS made with you. You were talking about the sad truth that you were experiencing at the end of your stay in PGS. Reminiscing those day, have you been thinking about "retiring" from esport? What was the atmosphere in team, have you ever thought "we will leave PGS now or end with the gaming completly"?
A (neo): The atmosphere in the team was good, and no one was thinking about quitting cs. We are still having fun playing and we don't want to quit :)!Q: (Feanorr) If you have a possibility to come back to one thing, which you use to do now, and start it from beginning, what it would be and what would you change?
A (neo): If I could do such thing I think I would not quit sports when I started playing CS. I've been spending so much time in front of the computer in the beginning of my 'gaming life' that I stopped doing any other things.Q (Riffer1990): Why is the difference between the results in the first part of 2007 and the 2nd part so big? Do you think this has to do with motivation or do you think other clans know your gameplay better, and therefore adjust to you?
A (TaZ): Well from my point of view it is very simple - in the first part of 2007 we were very motivated and hungry to win a tournament, to show that we are not a "one tournament" team, we played a lot and what is most important we had a lot of fun durring our play... after GameGune we took a little break and after that we had a lot of problems with PGS and it was really hard to focus only on our game ofcourse it wasn't only PGS fault... we made big mistake when we were bootcamping in Sweden, we wanted to create tactics from 0 for all maps... so we made good tactics but we didn't play to much.. so that's why we played bad at WCG, after that we had 12 days without practice... so LA was rather obvious, and it wasn't our fault. But now we can focus only on our game, so we'll see what will happen..
Q (Albertowang ) How do you deal with the frustration after losing a match?
A (neo): When we loose a match I go out and get drunk. But to be honest usually I just turn on the music and play some.. CS. :P
Q (Linkage): Comparing your daily routine you now have with the one you had while part of PGS, is there any significant difference? any change you would highlight?
A (TaZ): Well there's no difference in my daily routine, we still play the same amount of time and try to fix our tactical side as much as we can... Well maybe the one and only highlight is about our tactics that we really started to do some good stuff!Q: (unkie ) What do you want to do when you end your CS career? Do you have any plans about your future?
A: (Loord) Actually I don't have any plans for my future at the moment. I want to focus on gaming as long as I'm in good shape, and I will do my best to win everything there is to win..Q: (alienant) Who is tactical leader in MYM.cs? Does everybody try to invent their own tactics for the maps, and then you compare them and choose the best, or do you mix some parts together to get other variants?
A: (LUq) Everybody is trying to watch demos of other teams and think about what we could change or add. Mostly it is Loord, NEo, kuben and TaZ who are doing the strats. Then we try them out on the server, and talk about the pros and cons. Later we check out how they work in our PCW's and when we have examined that, we decide whether we keep them or not.Q: (DirectC ) How is the MYM organisation taking care about you and your team mates? Are there any big differences from what you have seen in PGS?
A: (Loord) Well everything is allright, so it is all great! As for PGS and MYM differences, there is a huge gap between both organisations. We really like the way all things are done in MYM.Q: (Sir_J ) Where do you see the e-Sports scene in 5 or 10 years in general and CS wise? Do you think there will be a game to replace CS in the scene in/after the same period?
A (LUq) Haven't thought about that to be honest. im ttrying to focuse on whats now and what needs to be done in my team thats it

sweet another question of mine got in, thanks for answering! :)
Question to Taz: Coming back on your explanation about wanting to make new tactics, how do you come up with brand new tactics? Do you start from scratch or do you "edit" one of your other tactics? | |
