MYM visits Blizzcon

Some time ago, Blizzard announced they will hold the BlizzCon 2007 edition soon, planning to show the fans some new projects they are working on. That time has passed, and StarCraft II was originally announced as one of the main projects. The MeetYourMakers team is there to bring you live updates and step-by-step event coverage for all that is Blizzard.

What can you expect from this year’s BlizzCon? Here are some of the activities that the participants can attend:

• Discussion panels with Blizzard developers
• Artist and developer signings
• Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
• World of Warcraft Trading Card Game tournaments and demos
• Costume, machinima, and character sound-alike contests with great prizes
• Commemorative merchandise and other products based on the Blizzard franchises
• A silent auction
• Live orchestral performances of music from Blizzard games
• And more...

But a BlizzCon without some Blizzard-based games competitions is just not BlizzCon: at this year’s edition, there will also be tourneys for StarCraft, WarCraft III (Battle.net Season V) and World of WarCraft.

With the release of the BlizzCon tickets, it only took a few days for the tickets to vanish: “sold out” was the common answer.

However, Blizzard also gave some tickets for the most important websites out there, and MYM was no exception. Right now, four guys from our crew and one player are going to attend this great event and keep the rest of us posted about what will be going on there

Probably the most exciting thing will be the StarCraft II testing session, where the participants will have the chance to actually play the game and have some more information revealed by the Blizzard developing team.

BlizzCon will be from August 3rd to August 4th, but on 2nd of August there will be for the first time the Blizzard RTS Community Summit. There, 12 people invited - including our own StarCraft ESUP Jonas 'The1Crow' Gebhardt - representing websites like MYM.com, GG.net, SCLegacy.com or BW.de will have the chance to talk to the guys behind Blizzard and ask them related questions at the Blizzard HQ in Irvine. They will also be able to test StarCraft II before all the others, and they will also be able to ask questions regarding this game.

ask blizzard about what happened to the promised patch from 2006 summer and when they intend to release the new patch and what the new patch will contain. Regarding wc3 ofc.

tell them to work on wc4! and also ask them what they'll do to make SC2 good for the publicity. (to make it more attractive to watch) like wtv for warcraft. Culater ~~

ask them if sc2 means they will forget about sc finally and focus on new game at their hands, meaning 1.15patch is the last gift they've given us. If force won't work, use greater force.
