Dutch WCG Grand Finals in Amsterdam

The Dutch WCG Finals were held at the "First Look" event, an event where they present the new games to the audience for the first time. It happened on Saturday 27th September in Amsterdam. For Warcraft III, the result was as follows:

Netherlands MYM]Grubby [2:0] srs.Rotterdam Netherlands

Grubby won the only Dutch Warcraft III spot to the WCG Grand Finals which will be held in Cologne this coming November.

We arrived in the morning at the venue.

This is the first time I see the big screen presenting the game like this to the audience. It's showing the first person's view from both players, instead of the usual observer mode.

The shoutcaster cast the game in Dutch, and he did his job pretty well as he had ample knowledge of the game. He was also casting Warcraft III at the Dutch WCG finals last year, also in Amsterdam.

srs.Rotterdam on stage. All finalists for all games arrived at 10am in the morning. Poor Rotterdam didn't know he had to be there at 10am, he reached the venue at 1pm, and thus had to rush to do his set up just before he play against Grubby.

Grubby won a spot to the WCG Grand Finals in Cologne.

Insomnia from Clanbase had a short interview with Grubby.

You will probably be able to watch the movie episode at the clanbase website in a week or so.

Grubby: "What? That's the end? That's hardly a two minute interview."

Grubby posing with the "ticket to Cologne".

sTa.Sushilicious came to the event to support Grubby.

Sushilicious: "I have a share in this ticket too!"

Later on, we went into Amsterdam city, where the three of us ate Falafel at "Maoz". It was fun, except for my poor feet. We had to walk a pretty long way as Sushilicious forgot where "Maoz" was! We had a nice time eating Falafels and chatting. xD
By the way Falafels is a kind of fried vegetarian balls, and we had free flow of nice vegetables such as carrots and red beets, garlic sauce, etc etc to add on to our food. I would eat there again!

Dutch gaming events are always pretty nice, fun and organised. We look forward to the next one. EPS Benelux Season 2 is starting again soon! All Dutchies, Belgians and Luxembourgers go sign up!

If there are any replays, it might be released by the Dutch organisation. If they don't release, then there's none.

nice read , and Good Job Grubby :) and again in the final , the 2 orc kings of the Netherlands , every year the final is Grubby vs Rotterdam , no intrigues ;(
Like on WCG Russia GF , nWo.Sting 2:0 TiTan , and 2:0 Happy , and he reached the 3rd place :) that was unpredictable , coz everybody thinked that Happy will reach the 1st place , or at least the 2nd.. but Sting did a great job and now he is going to Cologne :)
So i really hope , that some Dutch players will be able to fittingly strive against Grubby and Rotti in near future :) it will be really cool to see some new faces

P.S GoGo Grubby the 1st WCG place is your !

only one representative to wcg? other countries had up to 3 players, like the koreans?

Some countries only have 1 spot. It depends on the country.. whether the organisation has more budget to send more than 1 player per game.

The Netherlands only have 1 spot for Warcraft III, but there's a "joker spot", where they will choose a second place player from all the games and give him a spot. The decision lies with the organisation, they will decide which second place player deserves a spot, or have a good chance to get a medal.

They might choose Rotterdam.. who knows.
