The winning moments of MYM.CS
After Warcraft III finals end, we hung around, watched some dota, and waited for eSTRO and MYM.CS to warm up on stage. It was a pretty long wait, but it's ok because we found ourselves some seats amongst the audience.

In e-Stars last month, eSTRO won MYM.CS, so most of us think the chances are pretty equal, probably 50%-50%. This is what makes it exciting I guess! We can only hope for MYM.CS, they looked concentrated and focused during the warm up, which is a good sign. There was a lot of people watching the games, the seats are almost full. When it finally started, during the first map which is de_dust, it went very well in the start for MYM.CS, but eSTRO somehow managed to catch up and it was quite intense. In fact both teams were giving their best, except I thought MYM.CS has better team work and strategies. eSTRO has amazing shooters too, like termi and Bail. They also gave some surprise as a team.

I don't know the name of the second map, it was not used often. They both were trying to one up the other by not removing the relatively uncommon map. Someone told me that MYM.CS has advantage in the second map because they played on it before, and is probably more familiar with the map than eSTRO. "Great!" I thought, gaining more confidence.

Towards the end, MYM.CS reached 15 points and just need 1 point to win. eSTRO was trying their very mighty best to catch up, they did gain a few points, but finally MYM.CS came through and won over the last point. They stood up immediately and cheered.. and the crowd was applauding ever so loudly. All cameras were already pointing at them. "How did they get there so fast?" I wondered. Later I realised the photographers had been waiting there for a few rounds already - ever since MYM.CS reached 15 points. Experienced photographers just know when to be there, waiting to catch the winning moments! ;)

After everything, it was rather late, like 12.30 am or so. Grubby and I couldn't catch the light-rail back to our hotel anymore. Luckily MYM]The1Crow agreed to send us back by car. It was about 10-15 minutes drive. During the journey, Grubby got hungry and we went to Jack-in-the-box drive-through so he can pack some take-away.

Arriving back at the hotel, we were so tired, we set the alarm to wake up in 2-3 hours, at 4am. We had to catch a flight at 6am to go Las Vegas! Spent 4 days there, sight-seeing, visit casinos, watched a topless show, visited the magnificent Grand Canyon and did 3 hours of ATV riding through the desert. It was only 4 days holiday, but it was a great weekend filled with activities. Will probably blog about it next.

Europe Regional Qualifiers - Blizzcon

The Europe Regional Qualifiers for Blizzcon is coming this weekend - 6th and 7th September in Spain. I wish all 8 players best of luck! The players are GG.ToD, Creolophus, MYM]Grubby, nGize.Knoff, nGize.LiiLD.C, Happy, aTTaX.SaSe, WickeD.Lucifron. Spain happens to be the home-ground of Lucifron, perhaps he will do well. Or will Creolophus surprise us and pull a WCG 2007?

The tournament system is double elimination, and here's how the first round looks like:
