Legendary Russia Outdoors! *Pics*

Having traveled alot over the years, the Russian Subway is the most beautiful one I had ever seen. There are 160 stations in Moscow, all decorated differently with different kinds of marbles, statues and sculptures. It looks so magnificent that I could hardly believe it's just a subway. The metro stations in other countries always look normal, with normal walls instead of marbled walls. It was later when I inquired about this that I realised the Russian Subway is legendary.

Beautiful lamps are installed in the marbled walls as lighting for the Russian Subways.

Look at the curve of the ceiling and the beautiful patterns engraved!

Big statues! Probably to commemorate Russian heroes?

I have no idea who these heroes are. But the Russians would know.

This is the ceiling of another Subway station.. decorated with paintings and such beautiful engravings!

The pillars too, all pillars have a beautiful lamp and nice engravings! This station's lamp is different from the previous, but just as beautiful!

Great as a Russian souvenir. It's the Russian Dolls... "Dolls in Dolls".

Comes in many different designs.

The Russian fruit market.

Russian Vodka given to Grubby as a birthday present from Gravitas Gaming.

Russian Vodka.

Grubby's birthday cake!

With "22" candles on the cake.

Blowing candles..

"Shall I distribute the cake now?"

Lovely Nefanda from GoodGame.ru.

Me and Nefanda.

The Russian internet cafe.. alot of young kids..

It looks pretty nice and clean. So these are the internet cafes that the Russian Warcraft III players visit everyday? :D

And now it's time for some sight-seeing outdoors!

Nice bright flowers!

We firstly visit the Revolution Square.

It looks like a nice park.

This is the father of communism, Karl Marx. You can read about him HERE.

Grubby and me infront of Karl Marx's monument.

A group picture infront of Karl Marx's monument.

Looking across the street.

The streets in this part of Moscow is in general quite clean.

Of course, they are well-maintained by workers!

A nice fountain in the park.

Almost all the buildings we saw were special and beautiful.

Accidentally took a pic of a couple making out. :p

Lots of Russian Dolls!! We are at the Red Square where there are lots of souvenirs for sale.

Different kinds of Russian hats and caps.

Starcraft tem RoX leader, Bruce. He used to be a Starcraft pro-gamer.

After making a wish and throwing the coin over my left shoulder, I turned around and checked if the coin had landed within the square. It is believed that your wish will only come true if your coin lands in the square. And it looks like I also had an audience. :D

This is the Moscow State Historical Museum.

This building is a shopping centre! It looks nice and historical! Really different from other shopping centres in other countries. Especially different from the ones in modern Singapore.

Another picture of Grubby with the guards in red uniform outside Moscow State Historical Museum.

This building is one of the biggest shopping centre around that area.

It's the St Basil's Cathedral beside the Kremlin!

St. Basil's Cathedral is really really beautiful. It looks like a fairy tale building.. or like one of those in "Aladdin".

Grubby, me and Enza took pictures infront of the Kremlin.

Another picture of St.Basil's Cathedral! :p

Grubby loves the building too!

:D

Another picture of the shopping centre.

A close up of the St. Basil's Cathedral.

Me and Nefanda infront of the Kremlin.

And we took more than 1 picture!

And we took more than 2 pictures! ^^

Bruce and Grubby.

"Borsch", the nice Russian soup!

After dinner, I went home with a balloon tied to my coat! ^^

Found this funny video on the internet by coincidence! It's about funny pictures and stuffs that happened on the Russian Subway! Enjoy! :D

Hehe, this is cute :) However, i can say a couple of things in addition to Cassandra's story ;)

Most Russians don't know much about the sculptures in the subway... However, those you showed us in this blog seem to be put there in the memory of Russian partisans fighting with Hitler during the WWII. The subway is an historical memorial of course...

These "Dolls in Dolls" are Matrioshki, wich is untraslatable because "Matriona" is a very old Russian name and "Matrioshka" is a lovesome variant of "Matriona". They are very cute indeed and are all hand-painted.

The "Looking across the street" photo shows you a banner of Samsung... but beside the banner you would find the oldest theatre of Russia. It is probably being restorated... But the banner is really a shame =(

And about the soup - that's what we were quite discussing yesterday in Grubby's Birthday in Russia =).

Thx for the article! =) Really cute! :)

Heh, cr1stal, that's not true ;) There are nearly 90 thousand millionairs (USD). 88 or something.. However, Moscow really has lots of places to spend your cash =) It is a city of temptations =)

There's 88 thousand known millionaires in Moscow, there should be many unknown ones..

So potentially, there could be more than 100 thousand millionaires!

Heard that housing is quite expensive in Moscow too. So each person who owns an expensive house could also be a millionaire I suppose.

It is more than just expensive in Moscow... However, some millionaires prefer living in a good penthouse ^^. Or has a 7-rooms flat. Or both. Or both these and a house. It just feels a little weird ;)

Good to be a millionaire huh? ;)

Stop dotahating ;)
Lots of children sit in PG in the morning. They prefer internet cafe to their schools :) However, on Saturdays and Sundays they just tend to flood PG. They are kinda coming at 9:00 and waiting when the "PG Night" will be over and rush to the computers :) A little sick, isnt it ^_^
