Australia - Blue Mountains & Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach is one of Australia's most famous beach and among the world's most well-known. It is about 1km long, located in the suburb of Sydney City.

It's quite beautiful, though definitely not the most beautiful I have ever seen. My deepest impression there is the spare ribs at Hurricane's Grill. Omg.. they are the best spare ribs in the world, a MUST-TRY.

An introduction and map of Bondi Beach.

The houses and apartments beside the beach are believed to be very wanted and expensive.

Fine, soft white sandy beach.

Ta-da~! I'm hungry already........

Clear blue-green water!

This is the restaurant I'm talking about. BEST spare-ribs in the world! Remember that! Hurricane!

Children playing around a large special water structure.

Beautiful Sydney Harbour :)

It's a great place to sit and relax, enjoy the view and fresh air.

Nice place to dine.

Near to Sydney Chinatown.

Entrance of Sydney Chinatown. There is a large population of Asians in Sydney, more than in Melbourne I believe.

Oxford Street
- Lots of nice shops, a really great place for shopping!

I was caught in a hail storm in Sydney. And it was real painful - I ran for 15 mins before I could find shelter. It only hails there once every few years.. and how lucky I was. -_-

Was happy when I finally found shelter. :)

Beautiful wall paintings~!

These are the famous Blue Mountains. If you love nature - you have to visit this place!

Blue Mountains are made up of plateaus of sandstone, with eroded gorges up to 700+ metres in depth.

The name "Blue Mountains" derives from the blueish tinge the range takes on when viewed at a distance, which is caused by the release of volatile oils from eucalyptus forests.

There are various touristic places in the Blue Mountains - you can visit:

  • Katoomba Scenic Railway, the steepest railway in the world (according to the Guinness Book of Records, constructed between 1878 and 1900.
  • Have a ride on The Scenic Skyway - a glass-bottom aerial cable car.
  • The Scenic Flyway - which is the steepest aerial cable car in Australia, it is a 545 metre ride.
  • Jenolan Caves -a spectacular series of limestone caves that are regarded as one of the world's best.
  • The Giant Staircase - which runs down a cliff into the Jamison Valley next to the Three Sisters - offer access to extensive nature walks through the Valley.
  • The Zig Zag Railway - An old-fashioned railway with steam-powered engines near Lithgow.
  • The Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum at Faulconbridge. The gallery is operated by The National Trust of Australia and is located inside the former Norman Lindsay homestead, Springwood. The gallery houses a wide variety of artwork including paintings, etchings, model sailing ship replicas and sculptures. Have you seen the film "Sirens"? The house and surrounding gardens are featured in the film Sirens.
  • The Toy Museum at Leura is home to an interesting collection of toys and trains.
  • The Edge Cinema offers visitors a great view of the Blue Mountains. The Edge Movie which runs every 45 minutes, is narrated by Hugo Weaving and is about the geography of this great national park.

The stones behind me are the "Three sisters".

The mountains indeed seems to give out a blueish glow.

The view was really awesome. Reminds me of the Grand Canyon in Nevada, United States. But I think Grand Canyon is more magnificent. Blue Mountains are great for green nature.

Blue skies, Blue mountains.

On a cruise around Sydney Harbour.

Really beautiful lake.

If you visit Sydney, the Sydney Harbour cruise is worth the time.

Sunset was so charming.

Cruising under the bridge.

Night view of Sydney City.

Skyscrapers by Sydney Harbour.

The very famous Sydney Opera House. Also another MUST-SEE/VISIT place. :D

Next blog will be about Melbourne city - one of the most livable cities in the world!

Other Australia holiday blogs so far:

Sydney - Featherdale Wildlife Park

Tasmania - Port Arthur

Looking forward to read about Melbourne city, as I said in a post before, my friends were there and they said about Melbourne really nice things.

Anyway, you look so young on these pictures :) Is it just me, being really tired in the end of this day, or this is like 2 years back? :)

Sydney Opera House is just incredible, I would like to visit Australia and Sydney sometime, it's really beautiful country. Hope!

Crazy photos!
I love nature (by taking a glance at my profile you can realize that easily :P)
Blue Mountains are just awesome. It's a pity civilization has got its dirty hands on it though :S
I'm not against civilization at all but a magical place like Blue Mountains deserves to stay clean.

Heya,

First of all I think you should work as an travel agent :)
Interesting blogs you have there. I travelled 2 years around Australia with a WHV, dunno about Singapoure I think they are not allowed to do this kind of VISA but in NZ they are, and aussie is a amazing country. Bondi beach is def. one of the worest beaches I've ever seen haha sorry...It's too crowded for me and as you said there are much better ones as for example at the west coast. You haven't been there I guess. Next time try Perth and go down to a place called ESPERANCE...maybe the best beach in the world with silky beaches and clear water. And the best thing about it there are no people around, prob some surfers somewhere thats it not likely on the east coast where everything is full. And if you like nature the west offers you amazing parks, also you can swim with whale sharks at Exmouth if you are a good swimmer. The beaches there are awesume as well, white silky not golden as on the east (beside fraser island and white heaven beach of coz)

Can't wait to see your view of Melbourne my fav city in the world beside Hong Kong and maybe New York.

The Grand Canyon is in Arizona, United States, not Nevada.

But otherwise, very great post, that beach resembles the ones we have here in Orange County, except ours are a lot bigger and more crowded, and our water isnt crystal clear, but it's still clean!

Ah, yeah that's right. Grand Canyon is in Arizona, not Nevada.
I always forgot it, because I took a small plane from Las Vegas, Nevada to the Grand Canyon.

Too bad I didn't get to go to the beach at Orange County when I was there for Blizzcon last year. Saw in the movies that it look pretty nice. :D

Hehe, yeah, Orange County is amazing! I was at Blizzcon last year too it was only like a 10 min drive from my house hehe, lucky me with having Blizzard Headquarters in my backyard practically. There are a lot of movies that have our beaches in it, if not ours, Santa Monica's atleast. I know that in Huntington Beach there are world famous surf competitions every year in the summer, and here in Newport Beach is a place called the "wedge" which can have waves up to 15 feet which is very popular among the surfing crowd during the summer.
